Being married and having a wee one just what I can afford which varies month to month. Booked a Disneyworld holiday for next Summer (Lure of Star Tours) so DVD/Blu spending will be down.

Oddly enough we where looking at a Disney holiday last night, however I suggested we cut down on buying the kids more DVDs to save money, not DVDs for myself.

An Ibanez GAX30 in transparent red. It's a fairly cheap guitar (£149) but I've read and heard good things about it. It's not a gigging guitar, I just wanted a fairly decent one for recording. I've always played a strat and fancied a change and trying something new. Lately, though, I've been doing the folk circuit with my Fender acoustic. Don't need to hump tons of gear around - all I need is my acoustic, a pickup and my pedal (I get all kinds of weird sounds using an acoustic and an effects pedal (a Zoom multi-effects unit)). I'm usually on bass duties when I play in big bands, but the effort of shifting all that gear, transportation costs etc outweighs the amount of money you earn when you're an unsigned act. But with an acoustic I can make a few bucks a night and very little hassle. So, in a roundabout way, entertaining people helps fund my film hobby.

But...anyway,,,,

Yeah, I'd be a fool if I said I was in it for the money, if I'm lucky I come out with about £50 a gig, the extra cash does come in handy though.
I've read a few reviews on the GAX30, looks like a decent budget guitar, the singer/rhythm guitarist from my band was gonna get one but went with a Jackson instead.

Back on topic, I just got my phone bill for this month so I don't think I'll be doing that much spending for a few weeks....yeah right, who am I kidding

Yeah, who are we kidding? As soon as I left my post my last night I went and ordered Candyman on BD from HMV. So much for self control...

I don't buy anywhere near as many DVDs & BDs as I used to, I'm very selective nowadays.Like a lot of people here I have a family which is where most of my money goes.I reckon I may buy 1 or 2 a month, depending whether there is anything that I'm interested in going cheaply.

Yours truly too and you sound soooo much like me!

I also buy books and CDs every now and then but my main materialistic interest is without doubt my film collection.

Just got back from Florida. They've re done Star Tours...still made me feel sick.

I usually buy all my discs the week before pay day. Some months it may mean i buy nawt, next month i might do £200 on the shiney blu bastards.
