I did enjoy it for the hour it took to read though.
I probalby never appreciated the book until I started rewatching the titles- seeing the security guard in violent rome for example. I agree with you about the fandom hearts bit, but all of sudden I know see a character actor as often as I see J and B. Thats what I meant. Okay its easier to spot Al Cliver, or maybe Henry Silva, but one book put a guy that was so below the radar for me up there.

FFs I even noticed him in Django and Nero owned that one. maybe tone day someone will do this for Leonard Mann

I know what you mean, after i read it i watched "city of the living dead" and "contraband" again, a little part of me just waiting to see him, BUT i was a little miffed at a simple 3 page bio at the start, granted as she states, she was a fan and the book is a fans book. and i suppose like you said, i started digging out the movies mentioned, so it sparked an interest in me, but "Insightful", hmmmmmm, JK.

Is it just me or is he the long lost twin of Rhys Ifans?

****ing hell- yes Rhys Ifans I was thinking!!! Except he made better film choices than Ifans. Glad I wasnt the only one who saw that. Okay maybe insightful was stretching the term- illuminating was probably a better word to use. he was less recognisable as the beardy in the nazi one.

hahahaha, "Red nights of the Gestapo", he looks like my old History teacher in that with that beard, but he does have that stereotypical nazi look, i mean, look at him in "SS Experiment Camp", then again what about that hippy look in "Crimebusters"!!!

BTW, to get back to the topic, Mattei, i have to agree with bedorca, misunderstood hack.

He reminds me of Keith Moon a bit too

I think its one of Luciano Ercoli's, either "Death walks in High Heels" or "Death Walks at Midnight", i always get them mixed up, but i think its the latter.

Bruno Mattei is amazing and the world would be a much more boring place without his films. Yes, they're terrible, but they're simultaneously fantastic. Show me one true comedy film that's funnier than Rats (other than This Is Spinal Tap, obviously).
