Sad news indeed. I always thought she'd well outlive chain-smoking Uncle Jess (well, he's continuously smoking in all the interviews I've seen him in). Apparently not. Jess must have a genetic code like Ozzy Osbourne.

Someone I used to talk with frequently, once interviewed Jess and said that he and Lina were the most marvellous hosts and extremely hospitable and friendly. A nice way to be remembered.

Yes, they were a most peculiar and amiable pair - it was great to see a strong connection between two people both on screen and in private.

Like you, Daemonia, I hope that Jess will be around a little longer. However, this surely was one of the heaviest strokes of fate that could happen to him. With such a mutually intense and strong relationship over so many years, an already terribly sad loss like this must be even worse.

Let's hope that Uncle Jess has the power for a few more years!

As for Lina - rest in peace, cutie! You sure brought a lot of joy not only to your husband, but to a myriad of people all over the world, me included!

I'm going to take this weekend to catch up on some Franco/Romay movies I haven't got round to watching yet.

I always found Lina mesmerising. She's not your usual screen icon, but there's just something about her that draws you in. Then again, I'm an unashamed Franco fan, which is probably a personality defect, but hey, we all have our crosses to bear.

Her performance in FEMALE VAMPIRE is one of the most sexiest, mesmerising performances I've ever seen.

And I agree with pete, Lina was amazing in Female Vampire. Some of her more 'blue' performances are also equally mesmerising, but for different reasons.

In a strange way, I'll miss her. I always liked the fact of the thought that people like Franco and Romay were out there doing their own thing and finding an appreciative audience for it.

If I watch a Lina porn film now, is that like....err....necrophilia?

Just noticed this thread and find it very sad I like alot of people discovered Lina in Female Vampire; and I couldn't agree more with what Pete said I found Lina to be a very beautiful women. To me she had a look of innocence combined with sexiness that not many people have. She definitely will be missed.

I must admit I'm not too familiar with the films of Jess Franco & Lina Romay, but I've read about them.It's always sad to hear of anyone connected with our favourite genre passing away, so R.I.P. Lina.
