Default Friday The 13th Remake!

Hi!!!!

As you know, it's friday the 13th today. Black cats, ladders, broken mirrors, spilling salt, pavement cracks, falling elephants and what have you. Also, Friday The 13th comes out - as if you never knew! WAHEY! The trailer does actually look brilliant (unlike The Last House On The Left's remake trailer ) What do you guys think? I can't wait to see this one, personally.

I really hate the first Friday 13th, hopfully the remake will be a vast improvement.

The remake has a masked Jason Vorhees in it... so it's probably safe to assume it has nothing to do with plot of the first film. It's not really a remake, more a 'homagé' to the series of films.

I thought the second film was far better than the first.

Apparently it covers the first film as well as the second and third. So I've read. Although I would guess the third is only remade to the extent that Jason wears a hockey mask.

I think this looks alright. I'll not be rushing to see it but I'll certainly get round to it.

I just read a review (http://www.frightfest.co.uk/fridaythe13th.html) and that seems to suggest that the prologue summary at the start of the film sums up the first two films... so this film would fit in as the third.

Really? That's seems like a strange thing to do. I don't know why they didn't just make it a non-canon(ical?) sequel if they wanted to do a standard Jason slasher. Although I suppose they technically have, they've just called it a remake.

Just been to see the film and thought it was just ok.Nothing special as far as I was concerned.I know it was made by the same people, but the whole feel of the film was too near the TCM remake for me.You could have easily replaced jason with leatherface and no-one would have been any the wiser.I also saw the documentary His Name Was Jason a few weeks agoand the writers of the "remake" said that if anything, they would say it was more like a sequel, its just that they called it Friday The 13th,so that's how I look at it as well.

If it wasn't called Friday the 13th and the name of the characters were changed, not many people would care about this.
