Children of the Corn never did much for me as a movie but the original Thorn EMI artwork is one of the best sleeves of all time. Clean, simple and utterly chilling it has often been a 'display' title on my shelves.

It also harks from a time when labels could afford to spend thousands and thousands of pounds on a sleeve. These days there's hardly a penny to spend plus Photoshop does allow fast good-looking results but the days of the sleeve actually put together by an artist seem to be long gone.

Another vote for Children Of The Corn. I loathed the film but yes the artwork was unforgettably cool.

Now I wonder who voted for Bloodbath At The House Of Death?.....

COTC is certainly a cover , which is still in need of a worthy movie to promote

I went ofor "A Nightmare on Elm Street" though, mostly due to personal nostalgic reasons, but when you caught this image at the right time before knowing anthing about "Freddy Superstar" of the later 80's, it certainly should get your imagination going which tasty horrors might await you in this one.

Although the COTC cover is wicked, I had to go for A Nightmare on Elm Street like you, Peter. And it was for nostalgic reasons too. I can remember being in the video shop when I was 4 or 5 and being fascinated by the artwork for all of the Elm Street films. These days I have the Region 1 box set and I remember my giddy joy upon opening it as I realised that each of the individual DVD boxes used the original artwork.

My fave Elm Street artwork, though, even when I was little, was the sleeve for A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. The worst film of the bunch (or maybe joint with Freddy's Dead) but such a cool sleeve!
