Default Remember seeing your fave classics uncut for the first time?

With the internet and imports from around the globe, it's easier than ever to get all (well, almost all anyway) the films you want in their uncut shape...
Still, I have fond memories of the vhs era when things weren't quite as cosy for horror fans, when a lot of us had to put up with cut-to-ribbons rubbish.
Yet, the occassional thrill to actually catch something UNCUT for the first time...Pretty unbeatable!

My fondest memory of finally catching a cesnored movie uncut for the first time must have been me getting a chance to watch the unrated "Hellbound: Hellraiser II" in Italy in 1990 when we visited some American friends who lived there at the time.
Mind you,"Hellbound" was- and still is, to this day- cut by 12 mins (!) in its official German release, so actually getting a chance to see all the gory goodies- not to mention filling in all the logic gaps in the German butchered version with people vanishing from one moment to the next without any "explanation" left - was a real treat and eye opener, which gave me a first taste of what goodies were just waiting to be discovered abroad...

Sometimes I miss the thrill of those years...

So, what was the first censored classic you caught up with?

Nice to see Fulci's THE BEYOND,HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY,CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD and ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS fully uncut.

When I think back to those butchered Vipco vhs sell-throughs in the mid nineties...

EATEN ALIVE-The Vipco film with no cannibalism!

The old videos of Nightmare City, Dawn Of The Mummy and Nights Of Terror were practically unwatchable. I still have them today to remind me of just how crazy the censorship was then.

Bored Of The Dummy more like. Each one was reduced to a 15 certificate level.

You,know,I'll admit this at my own risk.

I thought a lot of the films mentioned were bollocks, not having any access to uncut versions.Seeing them uncut,well-night and day.
I spent a fortune on collecting all those cut tapes.
Most of them as you mention KN,weren't even worthy of an 18 logo.

I bought a lot of them too. Still have them on video in fact. Got most of them for the artwork alone.

I used to buy the uncut prints, mail order, from a guy in London. Those were the days.

The Vipco artwork ALWAYS suckered me in.

Only mail order source I had for uncut videos was Cult Video in Amsterdam.

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE,CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST,LAST HOUSE,DRILLER KILLER,I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE-All opened by HM's finest,but let through.

Ahh,those were the days.

The first copy of A Clockwork Orange I had was on a VHS which appeared to have been sourced from a wankered laserdisc. It had more lines than a zebra crossing.
