Default Short Films (Live Action or Animated)

I've always found the short narrative a wonderful medium for experimental film making, and in the last few decades, the genre has exploded with excellent filmmakers which soon find a career in the feature-length arena.

I'd like to start sharing some of these great films with everyone and hopefully have others introduce me to some stuff they enjoy.

There is one stop-motion film I just can't get enough of, and it comes from Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski.

Here's another one I thought was hilarious.

Cyberpunk meets Prim and Proper.

Not sure if this is the best place to post these but a couple of friends of mine had these video's made for their tracks. Both are very well made and just as much short films as they are music video's so thought I would post them.

The greatest short film I've ever seen was The Big Picture by The Spierig Brothers (of Undead and Daybreakers fame). It was unpredictable and interesting. Can't really explain it as it will ruin the story but briefly it's about a lady watching TV to find she's watching her life played out in front of her.
It seems to have vanished off the face of the planet though. I managed to catch it on a short film festival website about 6 years ago.
There have been rumours that the brothers will remake it into a full feature. I do hope they do.
