Default Dragon Films!

Dragons; there are few things that are quite as awesome. I mean, they're basically fire-breathing dinosaurs!

As such, it's no surprise that there's been quite a few Dragon films - some good, some not so good.

So, here's a thread to discuss these fire-breathing movie stars. Which ones would you recommened? Which ones should you avoid?

Here's just a few Dragon films that sprind to mind...

----------------------------------

Dawn Of The Dragon Slayer is out on the 13th Feb from Anchor Bay on DVD and Blu-Ray and can be pre-ordered from here.

Dragons generally annoy me even though I love dinosaurs and Godzilla.

I think it's due to my colossal guilt at playing Dungeons & Dragons and reading idiotic fantasy crap as a kid!

Having said that, Matthew Robbins's Dragonslayer has a dark gritty feel which is hard to resist.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of fantasy now and then, Goj

There seems to be loads of Dragon kid films - like Pete's Dragon and The Never Ending Story and the TV cartoon American Dragon I'm sure there's loooads more.

Good call on Dragonslayer - great film!

Have you ever seen Reign Of Fire?

The yellow thing in the picture is a dragon, from Texas by his accent. In the film of the TV series he wears a little white cowboy hat and boots!

Reign of Fire is the mother of all dragon films imo.

Is that the Christian Bale one? If so, it really took me by surprise as I was expecting a fun 90 minutes but instead got a rather grim fantasy film with a similar feel to the 80s BBC "Day of the Triffids". I've only seen the film once but still don't know if I like it or not.

How could I have forgotten Shrek?! Not a bad set of films, made all the better with a dragon!
