Anybody excited about the new Cave In record? I'm waiting for it to be delivered, and I seriously can't wait. Also, well up for the new Converge/Drop Dead split on Deathwish.

Punk is the first music that I ever called my own. I just missed out on the original 77 scene and got into it around 1980. The first gig I ever went to was Discharge at Bowes Lyon House in my home town of Stevenage. Saw loads of great bands there: Black Flag, Bad Brains, Flux of Pink Indians, Subhumans being fondly remembered. However my favourite punk gig was catching Rudimentary Peni at one of their rare live performances.

Today, I tend to listen to a lot of garage punk, 60s and modern with the multitude of bands featuring Greg Cartwright played almost daily in our house.

with me i got into the whole skater punk thing in the mid 90s and started with bands like Green Day, Blink 182, The Ataris and a lot of ska punk to, but as i got older i discovered more bands like Black Flag, The Ramones, Stiff Little Fingers, Generation X, XRAY specs, The Specials and so on, these days i listen to alot of that stuff but also bands like GlassJaw, Dillinger Escape Plan etc...

I can't say i've listened to these bands but they don't seem like punk or hardcore bands to me.

nah i would class them as hardcore and im usually im the guy saying otherwise with a lot of bands but would defo class converge as hardcore although thats the trouble with all the different labels bands have especially when it comes to hardcore and stupid "core" sub genres like

hardcore
metalcore
deathcore
spazzcore
mathcore
and many more pisses me off
