They are like Coldplay but Coldplay have two decent tunes.
Each to their own and all, but I think they're fantastic and the Coldplay comparison is absurd.

I like Radiohead myself, not as much as I used to do about 15 years ago, but I still think they piss all over Coldplay who IMO haven't done anything decent since their 3rd album.

In fact, I liked them so much back in the late 90's that I bought a Fender Telecaster very similar to Jonny Greenwood's, which I still use for gigging

Default The Live Music Thread

I think the thing with Radiohead is you either get them or you don't, their first 2 albums were considered guitar based rock, almost in line with the current trend coming out of Seattle at the time. Then came OK Computer, which showed a change of direction with the inclusion of synths, keyboards and computer programming, which was a taster for the next couple of albums where they practically abandoned their guitars for a more experimental sound.
I'll admit, when I first listened to OK Computer, I wasn't keen at first because I loved the guitar work on The Bends and wanted more of the same, but over time I've grown to love the album and would easily place it in my Top 20 favourite albums of all time. As for Kid A and Amnesiac, I could happily pick a few tracks from each to make one decent album, there's a lot on both that I'm not too keen on and everything after that hasn't really grabbed my interest other than the odd song here and there.
I've only ever seen them live once, in Manchester in 2003 and they were nothing short of phenomenal, something which I couldn't say about Asian Dub Foundation who supported them (both me and my mate nodded off during their set )

I can't comment on last nights performance because I forgot they were on and haven't watched it yet, but to finish I'm throwing it out there that I'm looking forward to Thom Yorke doing the score for the Suspiria remake, even if my expectations for the film are really low already

that's the only reason i'm kinda interested in it, but i would say that you missed out hail to the thief which is a great album. 2+2=5 is a great song

That's the last album I bought on day of release, I don't mind some of it (2+2=5 is a great song as you say), but I just couldn't get into all of it.
The concert I went to was on that albums tour and looking at Setlist.fm, they played 11 tracks from the album that night

Incidentally, it was two days before my first son was born, I remember thinking all night that I hoped my girlfriend's waters don't break while I'm here

’m aware that Radiohead have never had a ****ing bad review. I reckon if Thom Yorke ****ing shit into a light bulb and started blowing it like an empty beer bottle it’d probably get 9 out of 10 in ****ing Mojo.
They might be able to drone on for hours but they can't write a tune to save their lives.

Flicked through their set, yeah they were great. We do a version of Figure it out (our most modern song at the minute) and it never fails to go down a storm, and we never get tired of playing it
