No, I hate screechy, high-pitched metal vocals. Can't bear Dio or Dickinson. And they music they have been involved in has been dreadful. Except for a few good tracks when Dio was in Rainbow.

I like far too many kinds of music to go into. But I am not a fan of metal or hard rock for the most part. But there are some exceptions (I am often surprised by how much metal/metal-like music I do like!). I loved metal/RAWWWWWWK! when I was a kid, and know a lot of fans, so I still keep an ear on it.

You're all wrong of course.

If Di'Anno was such a good singer why did he not join another band, or form a supergroup as all great vocalists do, his solo stuff was, on the whole crap.

Hagar is a far superior singer to Roth, we will see how good Van Halen are when Roth has to rely on his voice rather than clowning around.

The Cavalera issue is odd really, i also think the Seps were far superior with Max, but against popular opinion i think they lost the plot with the Roots album. The previous two albums were both superb, however Roots was heavier but lacked any memorable songs.

Sepultura have lost much of their fanbase, yet Soulfly have never hit the heights Sepultura did and now both bands just release pretty average albums.

Gojirosan is just having a laugh saying Dio is a horrible singer surely.
As for Sepultura Arise, Beneath the Remains and Chaos A.D were dam fine albums. The problem for me with roots and all the soulfly stuff was trying to jam as much tribal music from every part of the world on every album which ended up over doing it.

I bought the last Soulfly album Omen for the live dvd mainly. Whilst watching it i was just desperate to see the Sepultura tracks or cover versions as they were all far better than 75% of the Soulfly tracks.

This may sound strange but its the best way i can explain it Soulfly had more of a bounce feel to all there songs were Sepultura at the hight of their powers had a bang your head feel like metal should. I really hope you understand what im trying to say.

Surely one of the worst has to be Eddie Tenpole taking over from John Lydon in a later incarnation of The Sex Pistols - see 'The Great Rock 'N Roll Swindle' opening sequence

and the 'Who Killed Bambi' segment
...and cringe!
