I've learnt to live and let live. People are always going to differ on opinion when it comes to music. My motto is as long as I like it , that's all that matters, and everyone else.

Most people probably haven't heard a real Techno record in their life.

Admittedly I'm more of Soulful House man, but all the crappy offshoots wind me up, probably more than they should. Working in a record store during the hey day of UK "Garage" wasn't fun.

I remember people giving me a hard time when i went to see Rush. I taught you only listened to Black Metal how come you went to Rush. When it comes to Metal fan there is so much bull shit such as you dont have long hair your not real metal ha ha. Every few years i shave my hair and grow it again saves money cutting your hair once every 5 years . Like i always say Metal is whats inside you not whats on you. Admittedly i look typical Metal hair beard leather jacket etc etc but if you love any type of music and really love it who care what you look like.

Totally understand Nordic. oppisite for me as I used to love going to metal clubs. But I didn't have long hair, or wear black and no one ever spoke to me. I found it quite isolating, even though I knew more about metal than probs most people there. Metal for me was suppose to mean freedom, to be yourself and come together with fellow music fans. Last thing metal I did was go and see Machine Head (a band I rate highly). There were so many idiots there though it was unbeleiveable.

Metal is full of posers. I remember years ago hanging around with so called metal heads male and female and thinking they were cool people that were into the same music as me at the time not many people around here listened to metal. After i finally got round to being in their houses i discovered that they were hiding pop albums from each other because it was not cool to listen to anything other than metal. I later found out some of them didnt even like metal just the look because it got them attention and so on.

I like all kinds of music which makes having my iphone set to shuffle interesting, one minute it might be a Stone Roses or Shed 7 song playing, nice melodic indie pop, next up could be a 360bpm Slayer/Machine Head/Sepultura track

Yeah, I've got friends that only listen to one type of music, which is boring for me. Last year I went to watch the Foo Fighters, Slash, a Leeds Indie band called The Music, Shed 7 and the almighty Iron Maiden, this year I'm off to watch the reformed Stone Roses and possibly Rush(if I can afford it)
