Default Weekly Comp - A Bay Of Blood - 21/11/10 - FINISHED

Hellooo!

That's right Cult-Labbers, this week's prize is none other than:

Label: Arrow Video
Release date: 6th December 2010
Release type: DVD, Blu-ray
Certificate: 18
Running time: tbc

Pricing: Blu-Ray £16.99, DVD £12.99

“FEATURES ENOUGH VIOLENCE AND GRUE TO SATISFY THE MOST RABID MAYHEM FANS AND BENEFITS FROM THE INIMITABLY STYLISH DIRECTION OF HORROR SPECIALIST MARIO BAVA.” – JOE DANTE, THE FILM BULLETIN.

Considered by many to be director Mario Bava’s most influential film (and his own personal favourite of all the films he made), A Bay Of Blood is undoubtedly the undisputed grandfather of the modern-day slasher movie.

Directed by Bava (Blood And Black Lace; Black Sunday; Hatchet For The Honeymoon), starring Bond Girl and former Miss France, Claudine Auger (Thunderball), boasting special makeup effects by three-time Oscar winner Carlo Rambaldi (E.T.; Alien; Close Encounters Of The Third Kind; King Kong) and featuring second unit footage reportedly shot by Roberto Rossellini (Rome, Open City; Journey To Italy), A Bay Of Blood was in 2005 named by Total Film magazine as one of the 50 greatest horror films of all time.

When a rich countess is murdered, a bitter conflict ensues to determine who’ll inherit her estate, and you can bet that the body count is going to rise rapidly in the process as the plot twists spin wildly out of control.

The fight to gain control of the countess’ fortune quickly turns into a full-on murder spree as numerous victims are in turn mangled, hung, speared, stabbed, strangled, hacked with a machete and decapitated. Before the matter is finally decided, an unlucky 13 corpses will be left floating in a gruesome Bay of Blood.

A Bay Of Blood (cert. 18) will be released on DVD (£12.99) and Blu-ray (£16.99) by Arrow Video on 6th December 2010.

Mario Bava is one of the Italian Gods of horror, there's no denying it and three lucky people could each win this excellent prize!

But how do you win? Quite simply! In a moment I'll post up a video containing 5 quotes from 5 different horror films. All you have to do is guess what films they're from, PM me the answers and Bob's (probably not) your uncle, you'll be put into the random draw next week if your answers are correct. As usual anyone can enter and there's no limit to the amount of guesses you make.

In the meantime, here's the film's trailer and some pictures from the film:

Oh they're from the presskit, bdc so straight from the DVD/Blu-Ray I'd say.

Speaking of which, the three winners will be able to choose which version they'd like (DVD or BLU)
