Hello everyone and Happy Halloweeny!

There's only one more day until Halloween is here so what better way to celebrate than with a Halloween competition! It's nice and simple as well.

One lucky person will win themselves a very nice bundle of Horror titles (on DVD/Blu-ray or both!) and two runner ups will each get themself a couple of horror titles too. If I can get some prizes confirmed, I'll post them here before the comp ends. If not, think of it as a Trick Or Treat surprise comp

I'm also hoping to team up with a great site and offer you something else that you will love! More on that as it hopefully develops.

Not planning, we had our Halloween Sneak Preview yesterday and I was there as John from the TED movie:

My Halloween-related celebrations last all week and pretty much involve my local cinema (Tyneside cinema) and lots of film viewing.


Yesterday I went to see Deep Red on the big screen

Tonight I'm going to see Class of Nuke 'Em High on the big screen

And tomorrow I'm going to "The Great Spooktacular Halloween Quiz" which I'm really looking forward to. It's pretty difficult and answers range from anything from Nosferatu to Eyes Without a Face to Ruggero Deodato but it's always good fun and a lot of effort's always put into it. Last year we came 2nd and won a bottle of wine and this delightful little outfit:




Then on Friday I'm hosting a film night with some friends at mine. Lots of pizza, lots of beer and a triple bill of horror films. The only one we're certain of so far is Pieces because they haven't seen it and we're missing a screening of it tomorrow.

It'll be a quiet night for me, but Halloween begins at 00:01 tonight when i'll watch the brilliant Trick r' Treat.

Tomorrow will be a Halloween spectacular with Hammers wonderful Night Creatures / Captain Clegg and a John Carpenter spectacular of Halloween and Halloween 2.

My pumpkin is pictured below.

My Halloween starts this afternoon when I'll be attempting to carve 3 pumpkins, one each for my boys and one for my 8 month old nephew. The plan is to do a Pikachu/Pokemon ball one for my 8 year old, Mr Bean for my 4 year old and some form of lion for my nephew, whether this happens I've no idea seeing as my printer is buggered so I'll be doing it freehand. Then tomorrow after I've picked the kids up from school, we'll be venturing out on our annual trip around the village trick or treating with some friends and their children, followed my a party for the kids at my parents' house. Film wise, I've got Halloween's 2, 4 & 5 lined up, why no number 3 I don't hear you say, well it doesn't tie in with the others in the series so I'm leaving it out.

In Australia, we don't do jack-o-lanterns because we don't have the right pumpkins, and well, Halloween just isn't that big in Australia.
