Default Whats the worst film you have ever seen or worst album you've ever heard?

Whats the worst film you have ever seen?

Off the top of my head:

Mansion of the Living Dead
Revenge in the House of Usher
The Ghost Galleon
Grease
Mannequin
Zombie Lake
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Maniac
Requiem for a Vampire
Halloween ( Rob Zombie )
Night of the Living Dead - 30th annivarsay edition. I like NOTLD but why did they have to ruin it with that bloody 30th annivarsary edition?

Agree on some of those loops. I liked Maniac & Ghost Galleon though. Plus I thought the Halloween remake was pretty good. Requiem for a Vampire, for me, is probably one of Rollin's weakest films - I do like his work alot though, and can't say that Requiem is one of the worst films I've seen.

I'm not really a fan of Jean Rollin aside from Fascination i find his films unbelivably boring.

Stephen Thrower, the creator of Nightmare U.S.A. no less, is of the opinion that Mansion of the Living Dead is a masterpiece.

During my time reviewing movies on the BBC Asian Network, I had the unfortunate task of sitting through Russell Crowe's Winespoitation movie "A Good Year", in which he and Ridley Scott made a sleep inducing version of A Year in Provence, presumably so they could have a pleasant summer of fine wine and good food. It would have also afforded Crowe with ample opportunity to fight the French locals.

I gave the film 2/10 but only because the shots of the idyllic French countryside were admittedly breathtaking. However, I was forced to dock the DVD three points... One for every Russell Crowe music video inflicted on the hapless viewer.

-1/10, proudly, the worst review I ever gave.

I also a big fat zero to The Fountain, which was the most tiresomely pretentious movie I ever watched.

Withnail & I is definitely one of the most overrated films I've ever seen.

I'm going to speak up for Withnail & I. It's a bit meandering, but to quote a cliche, every line is quotable. The dialogue is brilliant and the bittersweet ending is so downbeat and tragic.

I couldn't agree more, Vince. Totally overrated.

Yeah Rollin's films are an aquired taste (I've yet to find anyone else besides myself who actually enjoys watching them!) with Fascination being one of the best. I really like Night of the Hunted though; probably my favourite Rollin. However Living Dead Girl, Les Demoniaques, and Grapes of Death are also Rollin faves of mine.

As for the worst films I've seen... numerous ones unfortunately. Sometimes it's not so much the film, but the cast that annoy me. Also many so-called 'serious' action films annoy me that go all out on special effects, and character development but side-line the story and use 'phoney science' to tell a story. Films like Armageddon, Deep Impact, The Core, The Day After Tomorrow etc. are definite no-no's on my TV. Don't get me wrong I like a good action flick, but when some start getting too self involved or completely proposterous I have to turn off.

Other films I can't stand are these new-wave comedy take-off's like the Scary Movies or the more recent Epic Movie / Superhero Movie rubbish. They're just made for 12 year old wankers to giggle at and repeat lines from with all their mates.

Now, where I become more contoversial in my choices, is that I dislike the following movies that are deemed to be heralded classics intently:

- The Abyss
- Apocalypse Now
- Forrest Gump
- Grease
- Mary Poppins
- Pretty Woman
- Rambo
- Titanic
- Withnail & I

However I could list loads of awful films (mainly horror - as that is the most common genre I watch). If I watched teen comedy's non-stop I bet you I could list a hell of a lot more!

'Stolen' from my post in the thread 'Horror movies to avoid at all costs!' I would also choose:

- Captivity
- Cherry Falls
- Confessions of a Serial Killer
- Creep
- Creepshow III
- Dark Ride
- Halloween H20
- Queen of the Damned
- I Know What You Did Last Summer
- Phantasm IV: Oblivion
- Return of The Living Dead 5: Rave to the Grave
- Seed
- Untraceable
- Vampires Los Meurtos
- The Watcher
- Wicker Man (remake)
- Wind Chill
- Wrong Turn
- Zombie Doom

Plus some of the aforementioned teen / crap comedies I have had the unfortunate chance to be able to see:

- American Pie (I have only seen 1-3, and can say I do not wish to see any more of them )
- Dodgeball (Dodgebollocks more like)
- 40 Year Old Virgin
- Old School
... basically anything with Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, or Owen Wilson is best avoided I find.

As to other films I can think of off the top of my head that don't fit into the groups above...

- Battle Royale II
- Phone Booth
- The Pyjama Girl Case
- Resident Evil Apocalypse

... I could probably go on forever. There are certain films I haven't seen and would probably avoid watching, as they would most certainly be on this list!
