Very difficult choice. My instinct goes for Life Of Brian but having watched Holy Grail recently it dates extremely well (apart from that annoying ending).

"Let me come with you, Ponthiuth. l may be of thome athithtance if there ith a thudden crithith!!"

"What makes you think she's a witch?"
"Well, she turned me into a newt!"
"A newt?"
"I got better."

I found LOB to be a mockery of the life of our Lord Jesus, Christ, so I would'nt watch it again.
The first and only veiwing i've had , i've found to be a tastless atempt at homour at our Lords expense. .

If you watch it again you will realise that it is criticizing people who follow religon blindly, jesus only appears at the start of the movie.

LOB is way overrated, Holy Grail is miles better.

I agree Loops. Even priests didn't find it blasphemous or deflammatory. Why should they? They had no reason to. Mary Whitehouse did - but then again she: A. Never saw the film, and B. Was a crackpot anyway.

The film is about a man whose life parallels Christ. Not Christ himself. Jesus is portrayed at the beginning by Kenneth Colley who plays the role in a perfectly respectable and straight way.

I still can't make up my mind which I prefer. I like them both equally. I find that Holy Grail narrowly (very narrowly) has the better replay value.

The people who complained just went into the film with an agenda to call it blasphemous regardless.

I like LOB but the general silliness of Holy Grail makes it my fave.

They did a similar thing with The Last Temptation Of Christ and made comments without actually seeing it. Dreadfully boring film though.
