Ban the Sadist Videos

It would be great to see Arrow release this, either as an extra, or as an individual DVD.

Has anyone seen it? I think it's a really interesting documentary about the era of the Video Nasties, and it's unavailable on DVD. You could only get it as part of the Box of the Banned Collection.

I watched part one recently and I'm waiting to see part two. I had it on a rental from Lovefilm and it was part of the Box Of The Banned Collection.

The 2nd part is available in AB's Box Of The Banned 2 which presents its 5 films uncut (unlike the first box) and includes one of my favourite nasties The Witch Who Came From The Sea.

Excellent documentary and highly recommended.

I got the first BOTB but never got the second.

The first part of Ban the Sadist Video's, and the other doc, plus the booklet in set 1 were all great.

Thats true Vince, I Spit, Nightmare and LHOTL were all cut , Driller Killer , Evil Dead and ZFE were uncut.
Although ZFE was passed uncut for the first time by the BBFC, I think ABUK made a mistake including ISOYG as it was never gonna pass without heavy cuts , and the cut print of Nightmare which imo defeated the purpose of the whole boxset.

Ive got both Ban The Sadist Videos. Both docs are excellent. Leaves you wanting more. As is usually the case with that kinda stuff.

Sadly AB only had access to the R-rated Nightmares print (the uncut version would have no BBFC problems). The print of I Spit in Box 1 was the same as the first Hardgore release which replaced the cut footage with endlessly relayed reaction shots. Pricelessly awful editing.
