I agree. And when you think about it, even without Myers, it's more of a "true" Halloween movie than some of the sequels that followed, given Carpenter, Hill, Wallace & Cundey were still involved.

Certainly a well loved film!

I like all the Halloween films.

None of the sequels are perfect, far from it, but you know what you are getting when you sit down to watch one.

Its the same with the Friday the 13th films, both series are very watchable.

Oddly i don't like the Nightmare on Elm Street series at all. Just too far fetched i suppose.

Not seem them all, but I reckon that Halloween II and H2O are watchable, but rubbish. The others I have seen are just rubbish.

Halloween III: Season Of The Witch is excellent.

Pretty much my feelings on the series.

My ranking would be:

The Original
III
II
IV

The original is one of my top ten films, recently rewatched II and found it pretty shoddy but III is fantastic. I've seen the other sequels but can't remember them...never bothered with the remake or sequel though I will some day as I'm trying to stop being a remake snob.

The remake was so bad, I felt depressed when it finished.

No chance mate. Unfortuantely, they will go with the artwork that has been shown on sites. 9 times out of 10, the art shown as temporary by Universal has turned out to be the final artwork, with a few tweeks.

Has anyone seen the Producers Cut of Curse? Apparently it is much better than the original cut of the film, but struggle to see how it could improve the film as it is shocking!
