RAID VS AVENGERS - WHO WILL TRIUMPH?

Sadly if the Raid is a million times the film the Avengers is the masses will flock to see the avengers so at the cinema the Avengers will win. Most of the movie going public are sheep so countless gems or classics have been overlooked.

The Raid is primed to make a difference I think. The word of mouth is excellent and action movies in foreign languages tend to break through more easily as their less reliant on dialogue to drive things along.

The Raid is just mind blowing, not only does it deserve the success it's going to get, I think it'll be a trojan horse for other less mainstream movies to follow.

Actually why not have both movies doing good business this summer. It seems a shame to pick on the avengers because its a summer blockbuster. Having just seen it its actually really well made. That said if my local cinema were actually playing the raid i'd go see that as well because it looks f****g awsome.

It's all in the spirit of fun and no one here is saying The Avengers is a bad movie, just that movie like The Avengers are too big to fail and get hyped to an extent that other equally valid films get drowned out.

I hope the Avengers movie is brilliant, there are so many fans out there and I don't want to see them left feeling let down, but at the same time, The Raid is just an important.

indeed. Though I would argue avengers is a more groundbreaking movie.

Before I get flamed heres why.

The avengers and the whole marvel studios line of movies is creating a franchise thats attempting to interlink all the various movies into one universe. Every avengers character has their own movies and what happens in one carries over to the next. For better or worse (and for the better imo) this is something thats never been attempted before, and for a whole franchise of films thats deemed 'to big to fail' this is a bold attempt at bringing something new to the summer blockbuster.

As for the raid. Oh how I wish the british public would give films like this more of a chance! I work in blockbusters and when kick-ass foreign movies like this hit the shelves i'm first up to reccomend them. However too many people see the subtitled sticker, screw their faces up like infants presented with a plate of veg and put the film back in favour of some kind of generic tat, usually starring van damme or segal. Hopefully it'll hit my local and i'll look forward to seeing it.

In all honesty I want both films to be successful.....I've been waiting for the Avengers movie to happen since I was a kid....

But I also want the Raid to do well, because I like experimental movies like the Raid that actually try and be different. And if it's successful, more movies of the same caliber will come!

Definitely, the image is a big of fun and it's more about saying there are alternatives. Of course, people should see both and hopefully The Avengers movie will be a spectacular, but I'd love mainstream audiences to take The Raid to their hearts as well, because they're missing out if they don't.

I don't think I've seen a bad one for The Raid either... Hopefully a good start to a summer of movies.
