The UK and US releases will probably be in the same ratio.

I can recommend the German edition. I watched the film yesterday, the film looks really good in HD and the disc is 100% uncut (Unrated version). The Unrated footage has the same picture quality as the rest of the film.
AND it's packaged in a nice Steelbook.

@ Arrow: Are you going to use the same transfer that has been used for the German BD or do you have another ... maybe even better?

For RED SCORPION fans I highly recommend to get both Arrow's and Synapse's editions because they will both be packed with awesome and different extras. Both high quality transfers but the exact same, and Synapse's will also feature a new 5.1 track (plus the original stereo).

I was hoping to enjoy Red Scorpion this week, but I got an email from Amazon today saying I wont receive it until mid Feb now on the 16th! Think I'll cancel that order and get Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. I'll save Red Scorpion for next payday.

That's very odd, Legend. As far as I'm aware Red Scorpion hasn't been delayed and is still due for release on the 6th. I'll find out the answer for you
