You know what they say...different strokes for different folks. First thing I'll be doing is turning the new art around. The more are look at it, the more I dislike it.

Dolph looks like Sting in no. 3

(of course Sting is a very good actor in his own right...)
Stephen@Cult Labs likes this.

I agree, the 2nd and 3rd posters are not eye-catching. The 2nd color has weak background color (compare this with the similar looking red background on the cover posted by Stephen@Cult Labs. The French cover doesn't look convincing for a testoterone-filled action movie like RED SCORPION.

ARROW should replace the 2nd and 3rd with these two above

I like the way you think. unfortunately, I think the covers may have already been made.

Opened up my BD to turn the artwork around to one of the other panels, and as I looked at them, something popped into my head. The three original posters don't really look right when displayed in the clear window, and then it hit me why, some of the other arrow releases that use vhs artwork for the panels (Phenomena and Bay Of Blood come to mind) actually have the rectangular vhs artwork with a coloured border around it so it fills in most of the clear window when you put it in the slipcase. I wish Arrow would start doing this again.

Not sure if that answers your observation but the other artworks for RED SCORPION are not VHS covers but THEATRICAL POSTERS from different countries (France, Japan, US) which don't use the same (width by length) proportions for their one-sheets.

Ok, but you get the idea of what I mean. The Phenomena UK creepers artwork had a border put around it so it filled in more of the clear window.

I've just checked my copy and you're right. I wonder why Arrow stopped doing it when it worked so well.

Yeah, it's strange. The UK vhs artwork for Vamp didn't have one either, and it was just to thin in my mind to display. I've went for the Japanese Red Scorpion Artwork as it's a little wider.

As I've only used the new design, I hadn't noticed the alternate artwork on Vamp until you mentioned it but, like you say, it's strange. When Red Scorpion arrives, I'll have a look at the other three panels but, as I like the new design, I'll probably stick with that.
