Classy eh?

Perhaps RED SCORPION will join the best list once I've watched it all the way through.

I've only ever seen it up to the part where Dolph is pissed out his skull in the bar.

I really like 'The Prowler'. Again, it's one of the better early 80's slashers. It's not as good F13: TFC though, it has a really awkward pace and the characterization is bland but the cast give passable performances with the material they are given. The kills are the main highlight and it's more of a success because of Tom Savini. The prolonged drawn out murder set-pieces are so mean spirited and realistic. It's his very best work outside of the two Romero zombie films he worked on with 'Day of the Dead' being his masterwork. Joseph Zito does a good job with the whole mood of it though.

Agreed on all counts, except that I personally prefer The Prowler to F13: TFC.

I think F13: TFC has more likable characters and it moves along at a better pace. It also has some surprisingly good cinematography for a slasher. Savini is still on top of his game as well. It also has the edge over 'The Prowler' in doing something a bit different by having a young boy horror fan as the hero instead of a final girl using psychology against Jason in the climax, but at the same time, it relates back to Ginny Field using her own child psychology skills against him in part 2.
