Just had a look and Toxic Avenger is 1.33:1. I just had a look on DVDcompare and it says there is a 1.85:1 version.

Can I ask anyone in the know it says the Australian Gold Edition release is Anamorphic 1.85:1.

And yet the USA Gold Edition is non anamorphic. It seems unlikely two different remasters would be done so it seems more likely DVDcompare are wrong.

But which of the two are wrong? Or is there truly two different masters done

Rewind @ www.dvdcompare.net - Toxic Avenger (The) (1985)

I'd have to check but I'm sure Lloyd Kaufman always shot in 1.33:1 so I'm certain that's the correct version. I suspect all other versions are zoomed/cropped.

Yes but, and I know this will be sacrilege. I would rather have 1.85:1 as it perfectly fits my TV.

The Anchor Bay Evil Dead looks great as 1.85:1 for example.

According to the entry for the film on IMDB, the aspect ratio is 1.85 : 1

Ah yeah, I'm taking out my arse. Toxie 2 and 4 were shot 4 : 3. Troma's War and Terror Firmer were shot 1.37 : 1. For some reason I thought there were more
