Default Action Jackson (1988)

I've not long been on DVD Compare.net to see which is the best version to get of Action Jackson on DVD. They say the R4 version. So I searched for the film on EzyDVD but it's not available, or it isn't available on it's own.

Its been a few years since i saw this flick. Back in the day i used to rent all those eighties action flicks.Dunno the best release to get wavecrest, but on a similar note, whilst on amazon i typed in wings hauser on the advanced search engine and quite a few flicks came up. Lo and behold, one of em was 80's actioner no safe haven.Dunno if this is a bootleg though,as i thought this had no legit dvd release. Only 4 pound odd plus the usual p+p.
Anyone out there help me and wavecrest. 80's action needs you!

I've got both the R1 and R4 releases of this.

The R1 is cropped on the left and right of the picture to make it 4:3.

The R4 is cropped a little at the top and bottom of the picture but with a little extra on the sides to make it 16:9

Both look like the same print/transfer. I could put up a couple of screen shots...

I think No Safe Heaven is out on r1 but it's OOP.It brings back a few memories as this was about the second of his films I rented on video after Vice Squad.I'm hoping somebody will release L.A Bounty starring Hauser & Sybil Danning.

L.a bounty was another that cropped up. Cant remember if it was vhs or a dvd release though.I will check and get back.

Know what you mean,i rented this in the 80's along with the gary busey flick, eye of the tiger.Great nights entertainment that was.
Mutant was the first flick i seen with hauser in it.
Amazon also had the art of dying, hausers snuff themed thriller, but it was forty odd quid!!!

The Art Of Dying with its re-enactments of key scenes from The Deer Hunter & Scarface suffered cuts here on video.Hauser was a damn fine actor who was totally wasted. He also made another film released by Embassy on video here called Deadly Force which was a dull effort though he played the good guy for a change.

I did'nt know until today Jeff Speakman's PERFECT WEAPON was out on dvd on r4.I thought he made a couple of decent films during his short movie career including Streetknight.

A quick update on those hauser flicks...art of dying dvd,r1 is now standing at £25.89,still way too expensive.

L.a bounty,is indeed a vhs and is priced at £1.68.

I ordered no safe haven at the price of £4.86. Hope it aint a copy,as its a bit cheap for being oop.

The r1 dvd of The Art Of Dying is expensive on Amazonuk & Ebay. There is also the real possibility it was cut for an 'R' & the dvd is the theatrical version.
