A Canadian/US co-production I think.

A great film nonetheless!

Yes seems to be a co-production.
It was filmed in Canada (Ontario).

"When the Canadian government designated Canadian film productions as tax shelters in 1974, there were many other countries who wanted to get in on the act as well. American-Canadian co-productions began to flourish as a direct result of these incentives, just as they had during the 1930s, when England offered favourable treatment to films made in British colonies."

I've heard Superstition (1982), the witch/slasher flick was also Canadian.

I like Superstition too! There's some great kills in it, particularly the buzz saw death, microwave head splatter and the girl who's head is staked to the floor. The flashback scenes are good and the witch is pretty cool too, always seen in silhouette apart from her clawed hands.

Original props and storyboard of The Mask (1961) currently on display in the Toronto International Film Festival headquarters.
Big thanks to Paul Corupe for bringing this to my attention!
