Question Your Favourite Horror Film from 1966

1966 was a year for some brilliant horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated?

Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 1966 is...

Kill, Baby... Kill! - Mario Bava

The second Bava film to make the top spot for me in relation to the 1960s, Kill, Baby... Kill! is one of the Italian maestro's best in my opinion, filled with plenty of creepy set pieces and dripping in suspense.

Trailer:

Runners Up:
Circus of Fear
The Diabolical Dr. Z
Dracula: Prince of Darkness
Eye of the Devil
Incubus
Island of Terror
The Plague of the Zombies
Rasputin: The Mad Monk
The Reptile
The Witches

Dracula - Prince of Darkness was the first horror film i bought on vhs, i loved it then and i love it now.

The sacrifice to resurrect Dracula is still one of the most chilling scenes in horror i have ever seen.

The PLague of Zombies - hands down! The DVD release I have is a double with The Reptile, and it takes me to my happy place.

Some fine Hammer horrors, but Mario Bava wins this round with Kill, Baby Kill, a film I should really revisit shortly.

I don't have a blu-ray player boss, I have one dvd from "hammer collection" and I got another copy in a 21 dvd hammer box set.
