TREVOR EVE STARS IN ITV1’s COMPELLING NEW CRIME THRILLER.

“NERVE-SHREDDING… ‘KIDNAP AND RANSOM’ TAPS INTO THE ‘SPEED’ SCHOOL OF ADRENALINE-RUSH THRILLER.” – KEITH WATSON, METRO.

Following the ITV1 broadcast and DVD success of the crime thriller mini-series Kidnap And Ransom in 2011, Trevor Eve (Waking The Dead) makes a welcome and highly anticipated return as freelance hostage negotiator Dominic King in the three-part series Kidnap And Ransom Series Two, which began its broadcast on ITV1 at 9 p.m. on 23rd February 2012 prior to its DVD release by FremantleMedia Entertainment on 26th March 2012.

Eve heads a stellar cast that includes fellow original series cast members Helen Baxendale(Friends; Cold Feet), Natasha Little (Mistresses) and Amara Karan (The Darjeeling Limited) alongside guest stars Sean Gilder (Shameless), Sharon Small (Downton Abbey), Madhur Mittal(Slumdog Millionaire), Christopher Fairbank (Five Daughters), Owen Teale (Game of Thrones) and Kimberley Nixon (Fresh Meat; Cranford).

Dominic King (Eve) is in Srinagar, Kashmir negotiating the release of the Mehtas, a British Asian family kidnapped while on holiday visiting their son Mahavir. As the handover is completed, the police arrive and a shoot-out ensues. Dominic secures the release of the family but the kidnappers get away with Mahavir. In their panic they board a tourist bus taking all those on board hostage.

When the tourist bus crashes in a packed market square, Dominic begins the challenge of negotiating for the safety of a multi-national group of people, battling against the intervention of the Indian police and trying to learn the source of the kidnappers’ motives.

Created by acclaimed scriptwriter Patrick Harbinson (24, Law & Order, ER), written by Michael Crompton (Silent Witness) and directed by David Drury (The Take, Ashes to Ashes), this brand new second series of Kidnap And Ransom is packed with plenty of unexpected plot twists and proves to be equally as unexpected and absorbing as the first series.

Kidnap And Ransom Series Two (cert. 15, tbc) will be released on DVD (£14.99) by Fremantle Media Enterprises on 26th March 2012.
