Whether temporary or not, the animals need to be of the protected kind and there are only two types of protected lizards, Sand and Viviparous. The latter is brown, grey or black in color and the former is restricted to areas in the UK.

The scene was shot in Italy. I seriously doubt they flew in an imported lizard from the UK. I'm sure they used one locally and with a reptile rangler on set to monitor what was going on. My guess is that they used a Common Wall Lizard.
