My favourite story of just how ridiculous Whitehouse's attitude was concerns Doctor Who. She was concerned that children watching would be stressed out at the cliffhanger endings, at having to wait a week before the resolution! How did those watching the Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers/Rocket Man serials at the Saturday morning picture shows ever survive!
