I admit to being a fan of Bad Girls, but in no way does it compare to Prisoner. The stories in the first four series of BG are portrayed brilliantly with some fabulous characters, but series five and beyond sees the whole thing take a turn for the worst with outrageous and unrealistic plotlines. This said, Bad Girls does capture the style of the prison environment in more recent years and shows how things have changed.
In comparison to Bad Girls, Prisoner maintains a wonderful standard throughout its entire run, and offers a continual and successful mix of highly dramatic and comical situations that provides excellent entertainment.
