Your Favourite Horror Film from 1922

1922 was a year which leaves me slightly torn when deciding a favourite. A toss up between Häxan and Nosferatu, leaves Nosferatu the slight victor.

Runner Up:
Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages

I too would go with Nosferatu.

Whilst Haxan is excellent i see it as more documentary than film.

Definitely Nosferatu, Max Schreck portrays the Count in a highly creepy way, much more sinister than the handsome vampires that were to follow from Lugosi/Lee etc.

I'm sure Max Schreck was a real vampire! :fear: :behindsofa:

Genuinely creepy!

"Haxan" for it's witchyness but also for it's social commentary on the early days of psychoanalysis.

Of all the silent horror films i've seen, there is still something about Murnau's epic. Remember when C4 had their xmas "silent" season? showed this, Napoleon (on two days!), Wings etc??
Ah, happy days.....

Nosferatu easily.
I used to have HAXAN on Tartan DVD.
