Dracula's Daughter is also great fun.

Gloria Stuart was in the original Invisible Man though she's better remembered now for playing Old Rose in Titanic. All being well the lady herself will be 100 in July.

Yes she'll be 100 on Independence Day.A lot of celebrating in her household I think.

Love that monsterlagacy site, especially the posters. One of the things I liked about the films released as part of The Universal Classic Monsters Collection was the use of the original poster art on the dvd covers. The Mummy and The Bride Of Frankenstein being particular favourites.

I love WEREWOLF OF LONDON and FRANKENSTEIN.

Most of them are classics though.

I love all those classics too. If I had to pick a favourite it would be close between The Bride Of Frankenstien and The Wolf Man. I just have a soft spot for those old B&W classics. Karloff and Lugosi were always great to watch.

I must get round to watching that version - I have it in the Universal Legacy set, I must give it a spin sometime. Thanks for reminding me. These things tend to get lost in the midst of all my DVDs!

Just noticed that The Mummy is rated 15 in the UK.I don't remember anything that would be so bad in the film that would warrant a 15.Is there something I'm missing or have I just been so desensitized to most things that they don't bother me ?

The distributors last submitted the film in 2002 and requested a 15. It would easily pass with a lower rating today. Great opening scene but I find the film lumbers a bit afterwards.

Interestingly the original 1933 cinema release was rated 'A' without cuts.

I didn't realize that they had requested the 15 themselves, probabaly just to be on the safe side I would assume.I did notice that it was previously rated 'A',that's why I was a little confused.

The old Universal Monsters VHS was also rated 15 and it seemed like they just carried the certificate forward (a great video collection by the way).

From the same set The Black Cat and The Raven were also 15 rated. The latter was a bit daft considering Murders In The Rue Morgue is only a 12.
