Does anyone have that UK Hammer box set with all the Hammer films in it? Is it worth the pick-up?

I own a copy of that, it's a really nice set to have. They have basically cherry picked some of the best Hammer films from across Hammers existence as a film company. The set does not include Dracula 1958, and basically any Hammer film thats now owned by Warner bros. As this is not a Warner Bros box-set. The set does include a lot of the old classics though, but doesn't focus on the Dracula or frankenstein films, although it does feature a few of each. If your a hammer fan, this box-set is definitely worth having in your collection. It's half the price it used to be now too...

I can only reiterate what Mahoney32 said: it is a terrific set and one well worth buying as it gives you a great overview of what Hammer did with horror films and that there is a much more to their output than Dracula, Frankenstein and other 'monster' movies.

I hope Warner Bros release a Hammer Box-set of their own too. Would be a great companion piece for this set by Studio Canal. This set is around £40 in HMV these day's.
STRAIGHT ON TILL MORNING, and FEAR IN THE NIGHT are standouts, and THE NANNY is a brilliant film in this collection too.

Thumbs up from me too for this boxset. Another nice touch is the set of six Hammer postcards included.

THE NANNY:

I felt a bit sorry for the nanny to be honest. She was doing all these wicked things, but She was a tragic character at the end of the day. You kind of feel a tad sympathetic towards Her by the end of the film. The Nanny is possibly Hammer's most well crafted film. It flows beautifully, and every element of this film slots together perfectly. Don't be put off by the fact that it's in black & white, because it kind of suits it in some way.
If you haven't seen this film yet, remember it for the future, because this is a quality movie. Trust me...

I may take a bit of stick for this but Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell is my favourite Hammer film, closely followed by The Satanic Rites of Dracula.
