Default The Hammer Dracula Thread.

Does an uncut version of the first Christopher Lee Dracula Hammer film exist, with Dracula's death scene uncut? I read on or off the web the sequence has some seconds missing.

The film was cut for UK cinema by the BBFC (Lucy's staking and Dracula's disintegration) but cut slightly differently in the U.S (the latter scene only). UK video/DVD releases feature the U.S print with the alternate title (Horror Of Dracula). The BFI cinema showing a few years back was basically a cleaned up version of the U.S print but with the UK title sequence (Dracula) added.

It looks likely that the current print is the most complete version we'll ever have now.

Loops you need to get this one watched because, for me, it's the ultimate Hammer horror. I've lost count (pardon the pun) how many times I've seen this masterpiece. First Hammer film I saw aswell.
