Fantastic film with a slightly OTT performance from Hargitay.

I'm convinced the Italians made a new hd master as the French Artus dvd looks incredible.
All Pupillo's gothic horrors are really good imho, though his other 2 are more "classical".

One of the rarest Italian gothics for a long time...I once did a project to clean up the only available old vhs recording from tv...look at it shine now.

In other news Nucleus have released the new dvd of Playgirls and the Vampire and it's the Italian version it seems + some nice extras...was in contact with them for more info (which I got) but seems they cannot decide whether to send out a disc for review to me lol.

And The Horrible Dr. Hichcock will be getting it's first English friendly release on blu no less (OLIVE) although it will be the US version.

So did you yourself clean up that vhs, Bruno?

You should write a post on how you did it. The basics, it sounds really interesting and certainly looks great.

Well we didn't even have the original vhs tape, only a digitised file.
I was helped by someone more experienced in digital video manipulation,he showed me which filters were best to be applied.
It doesn't sound so hard but I was already working on it for 2 weeks when he helped me out, problem was introduction of noise and pixellation by the filters.

Cleaned up version got out through the usual sources and several pairs of subs (in different languages) were even made for it.
This was the best version back then.

1 original material 2008 / 2 cleaned up version 2010 / 3 dvd version 2014

Hopefully they manage to decide in your favour!

It's actually Olive Films who will be releasing Dr. Hichcock, b.

A big improvement there. It's not green for a start.

Nice work.
