Your Favourite Horror Film from 1965
 

1965 was a year for some brilliant horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated?

Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 1965 is...

Have you got Monster of Venice?
Is it a decent disc?

I don't, unfortunately.

The R1 disc is supposed to be okay, pan-and-scan though I think.

Its only £3.54 on Amazon, i think i will order it. Its a film i had completely forgotten about till i read your post.

I'd heard that VCI had a special edition (of sorts) in the works, but that was a while ago now.

£3.54 is a very good price - and my general apologies again for encouraging people to spend their money. ;)

I've got the Alpha release of "Monster of Venice". It looks like someone has taken a brillo pad to the filmstock and at one point, it appears as if they ran out of film and replaced it with wood! Great film though, especially the rock n roll interlude.

For a perfect example of how to make a film look beautiful on a low budget,look no further than Bava'a gorgeous PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES.

And DR TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS is one of the best Amicus anthologies.:nod:

As Reaper previously said, this is the best of the anthologies from Amicus, or anyone else in fact.

Yeah, Dr Terror's House of Horrors is extremely enjoyable and definitely a brilliant anthology - they certainly don't make them like this anymore, unfortunately... :(

Is there no love for "Bloody Pit of Horror", it's mad, bad and dangerous to know.

I recently watched loads of H.G. Lewis films back to back, is "Color Me Blood Red" the one with the excellent chase scene on pedaloes?
