Question Your Favourite Horror Film from 1969

1969 was a year for some brilliant horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated?

Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 1969 is...

La residencia - Narciso Ibáñez Serrador

Probably an unconventional choice, but this terrific little Spanish giallo-style thriller is an absolute gem of a film.

Trailer:

Runners Up:
99 Women
Blind Beast
The Body Stealers
The Cremator
Frankenstein Must be Destroyed
The Haunted House of Horror
Horrors of Malformed Men
Marquis de Sade's Justine
The Oblong Box
Sadisterotica
Venus in Furs

I have never heard of this, but it looks fantastic with that poster.

Have you got it ? where did you pick it up from?

I have this release:

Picked it up from Xploited Cinema a fair few years ago now.

I'm not sure whether it's still in print.

It is a really good slice of euro-horror, unfortunately the trailer doesn't do it justice.

Seen some clips from The House That Screamed, looks a good film.As I haven't seen it all though I'll have to go for Hammer's Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed.

Made in 1969, but released in 1970, Freddie Francis' Mumsy,Nanny,Sonny and Girly is my final 60's choice.

A delicious slice of black comedy horror.

1969 was a year without any outright masterpieces but, like Vampix, my choice is Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed.

I do like La Residencia but for me it's the wonderful Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny and Girly, I think.

I haven't seen any love for Blind Beast in this thread, I really hope it's just because it hasn't been seen. It's probably my favorite Asian Horror film ever.
