There will never be a definitive release of this title because there is nothing else to add about the film. Everything that can be released has been, everything that can be said, has been said.

One thing we don't have, though, is an uncut, properly framed Blu-ray release. So there's still at least one gap to fill right there.

Optimum is zoomed in (like the US release) and the Network release mysteriously loses some footage. So what we need is an uncut, un-zoomed release on Blu-ray.

Most people don't know about those kinds of things and if they did, very few are gonna pay just for those reasons alone. There is no deleted scenes, no outtakes, there is nothing else that can be added to any NOTLD release that people haven't already seen or heard.

NOTLD has also been released on BD in Italy by Raro. No idea how it compares to the other releases.

I didn't know it existed until about 5 minutes ago when I spotted it while browsing Amazon.it.

I read that the Optimum release was zoomed slightly when they got it, and isn't a real issue. But can you tell me, is thr Optimum good picture quality and uncut. I think I can live with it slightly zoomed as long as its not chopping whole heads off...

So am i with most or preferably all the extras found on the best DVDs of Romero's overrated but essential grisly groundbreaker. An HD release with only a solitary trailer or documentary for bonus material is simply not good enough for me.

Point taken and all the more reason the above info should find it's way onto a BR incarnation worthy of NOTLD's status as i don't believe any of the current HD editions truly do the film justice.

I haven't watched my copy yet, but I'll report back when I do.
