Default NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD George A Romero 1968

Romero's classic NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is released on February the 24th in this rather nice mediabook.
Their website lists the aspect ratio as 1;66;1 anyone picking this up?

Still not widescreen but 1;66;1 is better than 1;33;1 is it not?

Not really, as it is supposed to be full frame 1.33/1.37: 1

Any kind of widescreen display of NOTLD will compromise the framing. It has probably played cinemas around the world masked into a variety of ratios, but the correct one is 4:3.

Yeah I know 4;3 was the original aspect.
I don't have a telly from D E R anymore though!

I don't see how a 16:9 rendering of it is going to be desirable in anyway.

So you'd rather lose picture information?

Were you not bothered by panning and scanning when you had a 4:3 telly?

While on the subject of NOTLD, I was saddened to hear of Bill Hinzman passing away recently. His daughter said he asked to be cremated after he died as if he was buried he might just come back.
