My copy arrived from Zavvi this morning. I've had a quick look and the picture and sound quality are both superb.

I could have sworn I cancelled my Amazon order so I could spend my Play Funds but both deliveries are now on their way. Damn!

They have shops which sell DVDs? I haven't been in one of those for years!

Yep, and there was a rush on for the DVD, they had just sold the other copy they had in stock!

That's a great sign for the BFI and British cinema. I hope a shedload of units are bought as that may increase chances of a future Blu-ray, hopefully with an even longer cut.

It was a depressing experience to be honest. I walked into the local HMV in the town were I work expecting loads of copies to be on display along with the new releases for the week, couldn't find it with the new releases or in the horror section and in the end had to ask for it. Apparently there was one copy with the new releases which had just been sold and my copy in the general film section. Still, looked at another way, that's a total sell out of stock on the release date. I bet Disney couldn't compete with that.

Just got back from the BFI where they screened the restored cut. Wow.
