I only ever managed to catch Fright near the end when it used to regularly be shown as a late night horror on TV.There's one image of Dennis Waterman that has always stuck in my mind.I'll definitely be picking up the Optimum disc just to see the film and get that nostalgic buzz back of when TV used to show decent horrors. :pop2:

Watched it last night.As Vince said cracking print from Optimum,but no extras whatsoever!
Great film like this,we don't need extras.;)

Susan George.One of the hottest chicks in the seventies.:nod:
Also liked her in EYEWITNESS.:coolblue:

Watched the Optimum release a few nights ago.

I hate to say this, but I wasn't as mad on this one as I thought I would be. Don't get me wrong, I'm a sucker for this type of early 70s Brit horror / thrillers, but it just didn't grab me the way most others do. I prefer most of the Brian Clemens Thriller series, to be honest.

Maybe it was Peter Collinson's direction that put me off a bit. There was just no tense atmosphere at all. Same with his Straight On Til Morning, which is the only Hammer film I've switched off.

You see, her looks do absolutely nothing for me - never have. This is probably why I find myself less forgiving about her "acting" at times. :lol:

Don't pay much attention to her looks mate...:biggrin:

Hard to keep attention on what's going on in FRIGHT with that rigout she's wearing....:lol:

Twinky (Lola) is even harder to concentrate on. As for the opening titles of Die Screaming Marianne, well, who needs concentration. :laugh:

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 26th January 2010 10:33 PM

Yep.
TWINKY=JAILBAIT.:biggrin:

Going back to FRIGHT,it was rather bizarre seeing Hammer's classic PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES being screened in black and white on the telly!

vincenzo 26th January 2010 10:44 PM

Regretfully I can remember watching it in black and white on the telly. :blush:

Those were the days Vince!:biggrin:
