Default The Manitou (1978)

I have Just bought The Manitou (1978), a classic movie from which i have'nt seen for over 25 yrs, Starring Tony Curtis, Susan Strasberg, & Burgess Meredith amongst the stars.

For those that don't remember its about a Woman (Strasberg) (Curtis Girlfriend) Who goes to the drs with a lump/tumour on here neck which turns out to be the foetus of a 400 year-old demonic Native American Indian spirit.

From what i can remember this was a great film and can't wait to watch it again and i got this for the bargain price of just under £10 inc postage from ebay.

Does anyone else have or remember this Movie?

I thought it was hilariously fun. Tony Curtis saying "In hah NECK?" is a particular highlight.

Graham Masterton's book is far better but it's still a highly entertaining film.

Susan Strasberg looks absolutely gorgeous in it. She left us way too young.

Great cast too. The ever excellent Michael Ansara, Stella Stevens, Ann Sothern, Paul Mantee, and even little old Lurene Tuttle (the sheriff's wife in Psycho).

I remember my parents going to see that film at the local cinema. I still haven't got around to it myself. I did have it on my Lovefilm rental list, then it went to currently unavailable for some reason.

You have to see it mate, its just one of those must see on your list. It may not be the greatest movie ever made but it is very enjoyable.

I've got the ABUS DVD but have yet to check it out. Seem to remember a visual FX packed climax though.

I've never seen The Manitou despite being a fan of Girdler and this being his highest profile film!

I must get around to it, I suppose! I remember quite liking the book when I was a kid.
