Default Werewolf Woman (1976)

Hi

Has anyone seen this film? If you have, what are your thoughts on it? And which DVD is the best version to buy?

Thanks.

La lupa mannara?
I liked it except for the horrible sex-scenes they used as filler (not sexy at all).

I have the French dvd, which is good but has no English options (Italian/French subs)

I know of a Shriek Show DVD and a Raro DVD. I also know that X-Rated Kult put out a now very rare hardbox many years ago, which I would ideally have bought, but it has no English language at all.

I'm not sure which is better out of the Shriek Show and Raro though...

I saw the version broadcast by Channel 4 a few years ago as Naked Werewolf Woman, but I can't remember the slightest thing about it!

The Shriek Show version has the English dub soundtrack only, the Raro has Italian (with optional English subtitles) as well. I just discovered that - according to IMDb - the Shriek Show release has incorrect, zoomed in framing meaning picture information is lost.

I'll probably get the Raro release in the next few weeks.

I think the French Neo dvd uses the same master as the Raro.
According to what I've read it should be the best version.
There's also an image comparison.

Gah, I hate it when the worse DVD has the better cover artwork...the Raro artwork looks a bit rubbish, whereas the Shriek Show artwork looks awesome. Yet in terms of the actual best version to buy it's the opposite way around.

I actually prefer the Raro artwork. But I am rapidly becoming obsessed with Raro releases, so don't listen to me!

HA! My massive Internet rant about the nudity/sex removing framing of the Shriek Show disc actually ended up being quoted in an old DVD World!

Avoid that version. It as good as censors the nudity/feeling herself up scene in the hospital bed. BAH!

So I'm guessing the Raro release is pretty much the definitive one to buy then?

Absolutely daft as a brush film but enjoyable with it. It was almost listed as a video nasty at one point after a few police confiscations (namely in Manchester as ever), and hasn't seen a UK release since the old messily cut 80's video.
