So is my one a first edition or first pressing? I was kinda sceptical when I bought it because, not owning any other first editions, I kind of assumed it would say "first edition" somewhere. I bought it anyway because I would have bought it regardless.

I also thought it would say 'first edition' somewhere – mine says "Third impression February 1972".

I don't know, but looking at the cover illustration, and scrolling down this page, it looks like it could be

Is there any other information on another page, because there are many ways that publishers identify their books as a first edition. Some common ones are noting “First Edition,” “First Printing,” “First Published,” “Published,” or “First Impression” on the copyright page.

There is also a numbering system which have been commonly used in the post-World War II era.
The line commonly is a series of numbers (ex: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 or 1 3 5 7 9 8 6 4 2. Occasionally a letter line is used (ex: a b c d e).

Generally speaking, if the “1” is present, the book is a first edition (first edition, first printing).

For the second printing, the “1” is removed, so the “2” is the lowest number present. For example, a number line that reads 5 6 7 8 9 indicates a fifth printing.

Occasionally a number line will be accompanied by a date line. Example: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 80 81 82 83 84 indicates a third printing, published in 1980.

**NOTE - Yes, I used to work in a book shop!

A bookshop as well – you have had a varied employment past!

As for the book, mine is the third pressing and the page beginning "The blaze of sun wrung pops of sweat from the old man's brow" has a 3 at the bottom corner. It may be that the first editions number that page with a 1.

I'm jealous I don't have any Exorcist stuff apart from the Anthology BD that came out last year.

Great Collection Nos and I want a copy of that hardcover book too now Mucky.

Nobody asked for an Exorcist TV series, but we've got one and judging by this review, it could turn out to be worth a watch
