So it feels like I almost have some kind of "six degrees of seperation" connection to Blatty there, even though I really don't in any way, shape, or form. LOL
If you are ever short of cash, stick it on eBay – wow!

Believe it or not, I didn't pay a dime for it. I did some proofreading for the publisher a few years ago, got paid in store credit, and this was one of the titles I picked up a little later.

I wish I had known about the site and book at the time as I would have definitely bought one.

Cracking collection! I've only ever watched the film once - the first time it showed on TV. I was about 13 or thereabouts. Im sure it was channel 4 and they showed the full film without any advert breaks. There was also a little pre film thing with a presenter telling about how the film was "horrifying" and all the rest. After the build up I felt a bit disappointed by the film. I think i was maybe expecting it to be really violent and gory, when it was more a psychological affair. Years later I bought the book and loved it, and I've been wanting to revisit the film as a more...ahem...mature viewer.

My copy of the book, I was told when I bought it, is a first edition. The dust jacket is a bit tatty looking, but I think it adds a bit of character. I'll post a picture when I get home.

It is a really good book, though it's been a while since I looked at my copy.

I have that one too. Always thought that pic on the front cover was so creepy.

I have the same one but, unfortunately, mine is the third pressing (1972) not the first pressing. I would dearly love a first edition, first pressing, of the book.
