Default THE FIEND Robert Hartford-Davis 1972

I picked up THE FIEND from HMV the other day on the Odeon label.
I've had the cut Redemption dvd for yonks, and really enjoyed this sleazy little slice of Brit trash!

The main attraction of the Odeon reissue is that it's completely uncut! This is gonna be a treat!

Starring the likes of Patrick Magee(A Clockwork Orange),Tony Beckley (Get Carter),Ann Todd and Suzanna Leigh, any fan of Brit films such as Peeping Tom or Killer's Moon who hasn't seen this, should give it a whirl!

Anyone else rate this?

Odeon's covers rarely do B.
A pity, because their little booklets and transfers are generally excellent.

Pity there ain't a reversible cover with the BEWARE MY BRETHERN title.

It's also 1.78.1 Anamorphic.

I almost left HMV with Hammer's THE DAMNED and nowt else, until this caught my eye.

As I said, seeing it uncut will be great.According to the notes, there was one and a half minutes cut from this for TV and the Derann video.
I don't know how much was missing from the redemption DVD.

I'm not sure whether I've seen this... if it is the one I'm thinking of, there is a serial killer who records women on a tape recorder as he's killing them (a homage to Peeping Tom!)

If not, I could be thinking of something else - although I do recall Patrick Magee being in it.

Ah, good.

Can remember enjoying this one - didn't realise it had an uncut DVD release in the UK either, so cheers for the heads-up Reaps.
