I rented it from Lovefilm years ago and didn't think much to the picture quality, as far as I know it's the only one available.

I'd definitely recommend it (the adaptation, not the DVD) after Christopher Lee, Louis Jourdan is my favourite Count

You really need to see this one Dem.

I am happy with the BBC DVD. I watched this on it's first transmission in December 1977 and every showing after.
The version here is the film split into two parts. This is how one of the transmissions appeared as it was split over two nights. The BBC were running over time on the first episode and so the ending of that episode seems abrupt as there are no credits but that's how it was and nothing is missing. If you let the DVD play it runs into episode two anyway. The movie was shown only once as a full version on BBC2.
