The more threads I follow, the more DVDs and BDs I end up buying, whether it's gialli missing from my collection, American BDs that I didn't know were released, hidden gems that Arrow and Shameless bring out or films that have been highlighted in these 10 (now 15) threads, I always find films that I don't own, but should. I really don't mind the expense as I want to find out about as many genre films as I can and buy them before they're out of print.

Plenty of goodies in there.

To be honest, there are a fair few that I'm missing from my collection too.

I've only bought what I consider to be essentials as it would cost small fortune to buy everything listed and recommended by other people!

Hitchcock's Frenzy for me. Not his best film, but even his 'duds' are better than most peoples full efforts. Contains one of the greatest shots in horror history (unfortunately let down at the end with a disguised cut).

It seems to me that What Have You Done To Solange? stands head and shoulders above the competition for 1972. Frenzy is a good call too though.

The Last House on the Left because of it's sleaziness is my pick for 72.

Only just started checking out these year-by-year threads - reminding me of some top picks I need to check out (just ordered Horror Express).

I only discovered Duckling recently, but really enjoyed it - the first Fulci I've seen I can happily class as 'good'.

Special shout out to The Possession of Joel Delaney, with Shirley MacLaine and Perry King. Was expecting a bit of naff Hollywood horror, but it's actually pretty decent, and surprisingly nasty in it's climax - plus the Network dvd has a Newman/Jones commentary, entertaining listening as per usual . . .

I will go for tales from the crypt then deep river savages in second place, loads of other great films from this year though, most mentioned in this thread already

The uncut DRS is a hard watch given the animal cruelty involved so I think
I'd opt for Last House on the Left.
