First reviews are popping up on the forums...

"Not a clean print with some damage & dirt evident but it's in better condition than the print used for the Code Red release of THE REDEEMER (The best elements available to them) Well worth picking up for fans anyway." (Mark Meakin/WorldWideDVDForums)

"Watched RITUALS last night. Considering the scarcity of prints this is the best I've seen it look." (Evilskippy/Latarnia)

"All-in-all, I was quite impressed with the quality of the RITUALS print. It's miles ahead of the old uncut Astral VHS (which was way too dark), so it's a must-have for all horror fans. Knowing what I do about the production of the film and how the finale of the film will never look pristine due to a lab processing accident, I give Code Red two big thumbs-up for the presentation." (Fred Adelman/AVManiacs)

"I liked Rituals, to me it was better than Deliverance. I thought it was disturbing, tense, but not over the top intense, the acting was superb & the transfer was probably the best it will ever look. Overall the widescreen transfer was gorgeous. There were lines and blemishes in some parts of the negative and some scenes were still a little bit too dark. But I can tell a lot went into the restoration of the transfer. The pluses easily outweigh the negatives. A keeper and a great Code Red release." (David Steigman/AVManiacs)

"You have to go into this with the mind set that the film is never going to look superb. It's an obscure (but great) 35 year old non Hollywood/major studio film that was mishandled in every way throughout its history. I didn't have too much of a problem with the dark scenes as you actually could see for the most part what was going on. I remember the tv prints/airings back in the 80's squinting at the tv trying to make out what was going on in the cabin.

It was worth the price which wasn't all that bad ($13 and some change). I'm a happy guy." (Gary Banks/AVManiacs)

I have to confess to never having heard of this film until now, but having watched the trailer I will definitely have to add it to my wants list; you can also count me as a fan of Hal Holbrook . I love his performance in Magnum Force.

Luckily that song from the trailer is not in the film...
I thought the music used in the film was very good.

Hal Holbrook is great in Rituals imho.
