I have the US Blue Underground Coffin Box set. Does the UK Anchor Bay version feature both English and Spanish versions of Tombs Of The Blind Dead and Return Of The Evil Dead? Just wondering. |

So do I. Although it's been years since I watched the films, I remember loving them and the packaging seemed very appropriate.

I had the two titles that were released on VHS by Redemption back in the 90's 'Tombs Of The Blind Dead'... ...and 'Return Of The Evil Dead' I remember when they were announced in 'The Dark Side' magazine, and a release date was given. On the day in question, I spent hours walking around Portsmouth, going to every shop that sold videos - HMV, Virgin, Our Price, Smiths, Woolworths, Blackwells etc, getting more and more disappointed when I couldn't find them...only to discover that the release date had been put back a few weeks!

The ‘Blind Dead’ Return in Brand New Remake ‘Curse of the Blind Dead’ This March / Bloody Disgusting "Spanish filmmaker Amando de Ossorio’s “Blind Dead” films (Tombs of the Blind Dead, Return of the Blind Dead, The Ghost Galleon, and Night of the Seagulls) get the remake treatment with the brand new horror movie Curse of the Blind Dead this year, arriving next month. Uncork’d Entertainment brings Curse of the Blind Dead to DVD and Digital on March 2. “In the 14th century, a group of Satan worshipers, the Knights Templar, are captured during a ritual and brutally murdered by the locals. Just before the execution, the Knights swear to return to haunt the village and the nearby forest. Centuries later, in a post-apocalyptic future, a man and his daughter try to survive against both the Undead Knights and a sect commanded by a mad preacher.”Raffaele Picchio directed Curse of the Blind Dead, starring Aaron Stielstra, Alice Zanini, Francesca Pellegrini, and Bill Hutchens The original “Blind Dead” films were released between 1972 and 1975."

It does seem an uneasy mix of atmosphere and extreme violence, though it is unlikely it will have the same eeriness and political commentary as the original films.
